Steps to become a Real Estate Agent in Florida
​STEP 1
Take and pass the 63-hour course from Acre Institute.

Successfully completing this course also entails receiving a passing grade of a 70%.

The student cannot miss more than 8 hours of this course for any reason according to state requirements (hours lost can be made up within the review taken the day after the end of the course).
​STEP 2
Submit a state application along with fingerprints

DBPR Form RE-1: You can make the application through the website www.myfloridalicense.com

Fingerprints can be obtained at any UPS office or police station.

To apply you must:

Be at least 18 years of age.

Have a valid social security number.

Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Being able to answer questions about any criminal background if it exists.
​STEP 3
Upon application approval, Pearson Vue will send an approval letter to the applicant.

The applicant must earn 75% on the state exam to obtain the license.

Remember, your certificate for this course is valid for 2 years, which means you have up to 2 years to take and pass the state exam.
